Tharavadu branches into Victoria Leeds

The independent Indian restaurant operator is opening a 7,000 sq ft venue in January.

Called Uyare, the restaurant and bar will seat 150-180 guests and will continue to focus on South Indian food.

Lunson Mitchenall and Central Retail acted for Victoria Leeds.

The venue will have zones Bhoomi – The Earth restaurant and Agni – The Fire bar.

Victoria Leeds, owned and operated by Redical, is already home to operators including The Ivy, The Ivy Asia, The Cut & Craft, and Caffé Concerto.

Rachel Bradburn, leasing director at Victoria Leeds, said: “To welcome such a popular and successful local operator to Victoria Leeds, and support their wider regional growth, is a really exciting prospect.

“Independent, regional brands continue to play a key role in our tenant mix.”

Prakash Mendonca, director at Tharavadu, added: “As Leeds is our hometown, we are deeply committed to staying local, and it’s a privilege to be part of this vibrant community.”
