Northern delegation supports biggest UK MIPIM showing in years
One hundred Place North delegates heading to Cannes in four weeks gathered for an inaugural preview dinner at hotel voco in Manchester.
Guests were able to get the inside track on upcoming developments at MIPIM directly from global commercial director at organiser RX, Anthony Fortain, and Jake Tappenden-Lowe, UK director of MIPIM.
Tappenden-Lowe told guests the UK delegation was expected to be one of the largest in decades, although official figures will not be announced until the show opens in March.
The North of England stand, powered by Place North as part of the UK Hub inside the Palais, is due to be the biggest delegation taken to MIPIM for a first-time stand exhibitor, according to Tappenden-Lowe.
The UK Hub will anchor the corner of the Palais closest to the Manchester, Newcastle and Liverpool pavilions, all situated on the avenue outside.
Nearly 60 companies have so far signed up as partners of Place North at MIPIM.
There is still time for you to get involved; all the Place North at MIPIM packages are available on our dedicated site.
Last night, guests enjoyed dinner alongside targeted introductions to enable business development to get off to a strong start ahead of the show. As well as RX, guests heard from Dino Moutsopoulos, managing partner of Place North, and Cllr Lynn Williams, Leader of Blackpool Council, a Place North MIPIM partner.
In Cannes, Place’s famous hospitality will continue with arrival drinks on Monday evening, Northern investment debates on the UK Stage, sessions on the North of England stand, and local government leaders in discussion on Wednesday morning at Canopy by Hilton. Registration for Place North events is essential, priority places are reserved for partner organisations in our North of England delegation.
