Lichfields moves to 2 Bond Court

The planning consultancy has relocated to larger premises in Leeds city centre, taking 2,440 sq ft in a deal facilitated by WSB.

The move is to accommodate the 20-strong team, which has expanded from three people 15 years ago.

Lichfields uses Leeds as its base for work across Yorkshire, the Humber, and North Midlands, for clients such as Lidl and McDonalds.

High-profile projects at the moment include ongoing planning support for Latimer’s £100m Dyecoats scheme on Kirkstall Road, which will deliver around 1,600 homes and a riverside area, and securing consent for the repurposing of the former Bank of England site in Leeds into 118,000 sq ft of office space for Leeds Teachings Hospitals.

The team is also leading the planning work on a Development Consent Order for a major hydrogen gas storage facility at Aldbrough in East Yorkshire – one of the largest of its kind globally, supporting the UK’s decarbonisation and net zero ambitions.

The move follows the recent promotion of Emma Gomersal and James Cox to planning directors, part of a wider growth strategy to meet increasing demand from clients across Yorkshire.

Chris Darley, head of Lichfields’ Leeds office, said: “The new space puts us right at the centre of the action, close to many of our clients, partners and key transport links and offers the right environment to take the next step in our development.”
