GALLERY | Sheffield’s £40m Radisson Blu opens

The 150-room hotel is the latest part of the Heart of the City development being delivered by the council and development partner Queensberry.

The hotel in Pinstone Street sits behind a restored Victorian façade and has views of the Town Hall and Peace Gardens. There is an Indian restaurant, along with six meeting and event spaces, an outdoor terrace and a fitness centre.

“As part of the Heart of the City regeneration project, the hotel plays a pivotal role in shaping the city’s new identity while staying true to its roots.”

Main contractor was McLaughlin & Harvey. Also advising Sheffield City Council and Queensberry were Turner & Townsend, HLM Architects, and Counter Context.

It will be a tremendous asset to Sheffield, featuring a public rooftop bar and restaurant, conference and event spaces to support our business community, and setting a new benchmark for accommodation that will help us attract visitors from far and wide.”

Andrew Davison, Project Director at Queensberry, added: “Radisson Blu is recognised across the globe for its quality and style, and perfectly reflects the ambition and impact of Heart of the City. A lot of hard work has gone into making this hotel a reality and I’m incredibly proud of Sheffield Council, Queensberry and the whole project team.”
