EY on the move to Wellington Place
A deal for 25,000 sq ft with the Big Four accountant means that the flagship 11 & 12 Wellington Place office building is full, a year on from completion.
EY, currently based at Bridgewater Place, said that the move signifies the firm’s continued investment in its growing Yorkshire business following record UK revenues in 2023.
The firm now employs 480 people including 39 partners in the region, and also welcomed 34 graduates and apprentices to the Leeds office in September 2023.
EY said its new office at 12 Wellington Place will provide a modern workspace with more areas for both in-person collaboration and independent working, in support of the firm’s approach to hybrid working.
For developer and asset manager MEPC, EY’s move signals that a total of 228,986 sq ft. of office space in 11 & 12 Wellington Place is now fully let just 12 months after the building completed in February last year.
The deal that saw Lloyds Banking Group take around 124,000 sq ft was the largest regional office transaction in the UK in 2023. Arup, Hill Dickinson and ghd are among the other firms that have signed at the complex.
JLL and Savills are agents on the 11 & 12 building. Avison Young represented AY.
