CR Reynolds wins Hull work

The city council has appointed the civil engineering firm to support the upcoming upgrade of Humber Dock Street and Princes Dock Street.

CR Reynolds will support the council to develop plans for improvements, undertake site investigations and procure materials ahead of the main delivery of works, which are expected to get under way later this year.

Humber Dock Street and Princes Dock Street are integral to the new maritime trail designed to connect key attractions in the city’s historic as Hull looks to major on the burgeoning regeneration of its Old Town and Fruit Market areas.

The enhancements, which will improve accessibility throughout, are made possible through the support of National Highways and Hull City Council funding.

The project will also complete the ‘maritime trail,’ which ties together key heritage sites being revitalised under the broader Hull Maritime programme. Landscaping and seating are a major part of the plans.

Cllr Mark Ieronimo, portfolio holder for transport, roads and highways, said: “The upgrades to Humber Dock Street, High Street, and Princes Dock Street will significantly contribute to making these areas more welcoming and accessible, as well as showcasing the historical significance and future potential of these key areas.

“We look forward to collaborating closely with CR Reynolds to bring this vision to life.”
