Campeys of Selby agrees lease at Konect62
The family-owned haulage company has taken a 61,065 sq ft warehouse at the Knottingley logistics park, comprising office space, a service yard, 148 parking spaces and eight EV charging points.
The first phase of Konect62 provides 375,000 sq ft of logistics and industrial space with a 30-acre serviced plot that has planning permission for a 735,000 sq ft logistics unit known as ‘Big K’.
One more 151,000 sq ft unit is available to let immediately as part of phase one, joining Oakland International and TIP Group.
The scheme is a joint venture between Cole Waterhouse and Henderson Park. DTRE, Sixteen Real Estate and Savills are joint letting agents.
The site currently has a planning application awaiting determination for phase two of the development, which would create an additional 802,000 sq ft of logistics and manufacturing space across units ranging in size from 4,000 to 375,000 sq ft.
Konect62 is located on the site of the former Kellingley Colliery coal mine and benefits from a high level of power availability.
Campeys employs more than 170 people. At Konect62, it will focus on the expansion of its food storage and distribution offerings.
Harry Campey, commercial & operations director at Campeys, said: “The quality of the build alongside the location near the M62 and A1 meant K62 was the perfect addition to our operational portfolio.
“Having secured a large long term food storage and distribution contract prior to receiving the keys, it was imperative that the site was fit and ready for BRCGS Food Safety Global Standard, as well as various ISO accreditations.
“In addition, the site’s market-leading ESG credentials are in line with what we require as a forward-thinking logistics company with safety and sustainability at the forefront of our priorities and commitment to customers.”
Robert Titterton, development manager at Cole Waterhouse, added: “We’re thrilled to welcome Campeys of Selby to Konect62, marking our third letting this year at this brand-new, prime industrial site in the heart of Yorkshire.
“The sustained interest in Konect62 speaks for itself and cements our multi-million-pound commitment to transform the former coal mine into an outstanding place to do business in the region.
“With three occupiers in place, including local, family-owned businesses and an international company, we’re now looking forward to breathing life into future phases to deliver up to 1.9m sq ft in total.”
