Caddick opens new headquarters in Wakefield
The construction group moved to the new location at Calder House, Wakefield 41 Business Park, to accommodate its growing business.
Caddick moved from its former headquarters at Calder Grange, Knottingley, where it has been based since the company’s inception in 1979.
Before the move, Calder House premises underwent a £3.8m renovation, seeing the building increase from 11,000 sq ft to 15,000 sq ft with sustainable technologies including solar panels and EV charging points installed.
The offices will house 130 employees, 79 of whom live in Wakefield.
The opening of Calder House follows the release of Caddick Construction Group’s recent annual results, which saw turnover rise 38% to £318m with a profit of £7.4m for the year ending August 2023.
Features of the office include a glazed atrium, open-plan office space, feature walls, a cafe and breakout spaces, and a wellbeing zone.
Paul Dodsworth, construction group managing director at Caddick, commented: “Our former headquarters in Knottingley served us well as we evolved and grew over the past four decades and while we have outgrown this space, we feel passionately about staying true to our roots.
“We are very proud to welcome Cllr Denise Jeffery to our new home and to demonstrate our commitment to the city. We’ve invested in making this office space a creative, energised, and sustainable place to do business, one that represents a strong economic future for Wakefield.”
Cllr Denise Jeffery, leader of Wakefield council, said: “Caddick has a proud history in our area dating back to 1979. It’s a business that makes an extremely important contribution to our local economy and one which has exciting plans for future growth.”
