Approval granted for 118-home Kelham Island scheme

Sabkha Construction has been given the go-ahead for its Cotton Mill development in Sheffield, and can now proceed with building two apartment blocks on the disused warehouse land.

Measuring five- and seven-storeys, the 0.6 acre Shalesmoor site is located south of the Central Quay student quarters, between Cotton Mill Row and Alma Street, to the east of the Kelham Island Industrial Conservation Area.

Sabkha worked with planner Urbana and Chetwynd Architects on the project, as well as Pegasus, Smith Marston, Arbtech, and Envirocheck.

Plans were lodged with Sheffield City Council last June and full details of the scheme can be viewed using the reference 24/01140/FUL.
